About
Brighton Live festival is a a free, not for profit, annual multi-site festival that celebrates the diversity of music from Brighton & Hove by showcasing emerging acts and raising awareness of local talent while building audiences for live music.
The core of the festival is a showcase of new and unsigned Brighton music at a wide range of venues in the city. Another key element are the free industry seminar and workshops providing: information, inspiration, advice and discussion around current issues, professional development and networking opportunities with music professionals and other unsigned bands.
Each year, the festival also aims to provide 'festival strands' where Brighton Live 'reaches out'; for example, reaching new musical genres, hosting unusual musical collaborations & bringing music to unique and inspiring locations across the city.
Brighton Live aims include to:
- Provide a high profile platform for new talent
- Provide professional development for new artists through a seminar programme
- Bring musicians, the music industry and the media together, offer networking opportunities
- Put individual acts on the music industry map
- Raise Brighton's profile nationally as a creative place to make/enjoy music
- Develop new audiences for a wide range of locally produced music
- Celebrate the diversity and talent of local and regional musicians.
